But those who start preparing for the new competitive exams, do not have good knowledge about all the exams conducted by SSC.

We will cover all SSC exams one by one, but before that let's start with some basics. Like what is SSC?
SSC i.e. Staff Selection Commission is a government organization, which works to recruit officers and clerks for the different ministries of the Government of India and their departments. The main headquarter of SSC is in Delhi, but its regional office is in other cities like Prayagraj, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Guwahati, Kolkata etc.
The Staff Selection Commission was first brought up on 4 November 1975 in the Estimate Committee in the 47th Report. In this, the Estimate Committee suggested that an organization should be formed to make a requirement for the lower and middle-level clerical post of the government officers. Then SSC was formed.
SSC is recruitment for the Group B and Group C level posts of the government. Such as SSC CGL Combined Graduate Level exam, CHSL Combined Higher Secondary Level exam, MTS Multi Tasking Staff Exam, JEE Junior Engineer Exam, JHT Junior Hindi Translator, Stenographer, Constable GD Exam, DP & CAPF Exam.
1 - SSC CGL
First of all, CGL means Combined Graduate Level Exam. It is the most popular exam of SSC. SSC conducts this exam every year. Through this SSC mostly fills the recruitment of Group B & Group C posts of Central Govt. In which salary is available from pay level 8 to pay level 4 according to the metrics of the post.
The posts available through CGL exam include CAG, AAO i.e. Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer, Central Secretariat Service, Intelligent Bureau, Ministry of Railways, MEA Minister of External Affairs, AFHQ, Ministry of Electronics and IT . ASO i.e. Assistant Section Officer and Income Tax Inspector, Central Excise Inspector, Inspector in CBI Central Bureau of Investigation and Central Bureau of Narcotics, NIA i.e. National Investigation Agency, Sub Inspector in CBN and apart from this Upper Division Clerk, Tax Assistant in all ministries, Assistants, Accountants, Junior Accountants, Auditors etc.
Next thing to talk about is the eligibility criteria, The age requirement of the candidate for CGL exams is according to the post. This requirement is mostly 18 to 30 years for Group B posts and 18 to 27 years for Group C posts. Talking about the education qualification. So as the name of the exam suggests, Combined graduate level exam then for all the posts of this exam, the candidate should have at least an undergraduate in any discipline from any recognized university, Should have Bachelor's degree.
Apart from this, the candidate should be an Indian Citizen. But apart from this, refugees from Tewitian, Nepal and Bhutan, who settled in India before 1962 are also eligible. And those Indians who live in Vietnam, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia country and wants to settle back in India, he is also eligible.
2 - SSC CHSL
Now let's talk about the next exam CHSL-Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam. Through this exam, SSC makes the requirements of Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant, Shooting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator for Government Officers.
Talking about the salary, then the LDC, the lower division clerk gets the salary of level 2 on the matrix. Starting basic salary is ₹ 19900. And all other posts get a salary of label 4 on metrics. Whose starting basic pay is ₹ 25500 per month.
Now let's talk about its eligibility criteria, then the age limit for this is 18 to 27 years. The citizenship criteria are the same as in the CGL exam. But if we talk about education qualifications there is no bachelor's degree mandatory. According to the name of this exam, Higher Secondary i.e. 12th pass candidate is also eligible for it. Yes, but for the post of DEO in CAG i.e. Data Entry Operator, Controller and Auditor General of India, the candidates should be from the Science stream and mathematics should be a common subject in their 12th syllabus. CGL and CHSL are the most popular exams of SSC. Many times people also call these exams directly as SSC.
3 - SSC MTS
The next exam to be conducted by SSC is MTS- Multi Tasking Staff Exam. This exam is required by SSC for Group C Non-Technical Posts of all Departments except Ministerial Posts of the Government of India. The eligibility criteria for this are 18 to 25 years. On the other hand, if we talk about the minimum education qualification, then the 10th pass is eligible for this.
4 - SSC JEE
Next exam is JEE - Junior Engineer Exam. SSC conducts this exam to fill the technical posts for government officers. This technical post is for those candidates who are from an engineering background. The candidate having requirements through this can be a junior engineer in different government departments like military engineering services, border road organization, farakka barrage project, central water commission, central public works department, central water, and power research station, NTRO- National Technical Research Organization.
Talking about the eligibility criteria, then the age limit for most of the posts on this exam is 18 to 30 years. But for some posts this maximum limit is 27 and for another post 32 years.
If we talk about educational qualifications, then only three fields of engineering are posted in it that is Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. According to different posts, there is a requirement for a degree and diploma in different fields. It is one of the most popular exams among diploma or polytechnic students. Because JEE- Junior Engineer comes in Group B non-gazetted services, Who gets the salary of Matrix Level 6. Whose starting basic pay is ₹ 35400 per month.
5 – SSC JHT
Now let's talk about the next exam, which is JHT, i.e. Junior Hindi Translator exam. Government Officers wherever they require like Central Secretariat, Ministry of Railways, AFHQ -Armed Forces Head Quarter for Junior Translator and Senior Translator in some Department and Hindi Translator for CSTI-Central Hindi Training Institute.
Talking about the eligibility criteria, the candidates should have a master's degree in Hindi and English language. And for the post of Hindi Translator BEd i.e. Bachelor of Education should be done. Talking about the age eligibility criteria, then the age limit for this is 18 to 30 years. Friends, to become a translator, one should have good grasp of grammar in Hindi and English language. So that he can easily translate from one language to another. Their job is to translate government official documents and speeches.
Talking about salary, the Junior translator gets a salary of Matriculation pay level 6. The senior translator gets a salary of pay level 7. Whose starting basic salary is Rs 44900 and Hindi professor in CHTI gets a salary of level 8. Whose starting basic salary is ₹ 47600 per month.
6 - Stenographer
The next exam is Stenographer. Through this, the Stenographer post is available in Grade C and Group D in Government Officer. Grade C stenographers come in Group B non-gazetted government jobs. And Grade D stenographers is in Group C jobs.
Talking about the eligibility criteria, candidates can apply after 10+2. And in the age criteria, the maximum age limit is 30 years for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 27 years for Grade D.
Friends, a stenographer uses a fast hand to write spoken words and pictures in code words. Steno is a machine and these people type very fast in it. You must have seen in court that there is a person present there to keep all the proceedings and debates on record court. He keeps on saving all the conversations in the return. Talking about the salary, Group C Stenographers get Matrix Level 6 and Group D Stenographers get Matrix Level 4 Salaries.
7 – SSC GD
The next exam is SSC Constable GD Examination. Through Exam SSC recruits for different Central Armed Forces, NIA, SSF etc. The age limit for this in the eligibility criteria is between 18 to 23 years. And education qualification is required 10th pass. And the candidate for the Arms Forces should have done PST- Physical Standard Test.
The height of the male candidate should be 170 cm and that of the female candidate should be a minimum of 157 cm. In the same way, there is some reservation in ST/SC candidates and there is also relaxation in requirements according to different categories. Along with this, there is PET i.e. Physical Efficiency Test. Male candidates have to complete a 5 km race in 24 minutes, and female 1.6 km race in 8.30 minutes. If we talk about their salary, then they get a salary of level 3 on the matrix. Whose starting basic pay is ₹ 21700 per month.
8 – DP & CAPE
Now let's talk about DP & CAPF of our last exam in this list. Through this exam, the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police and Sub Inspector in Defense Central Armed Forces like CISF, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, and SSB is required. Talk about the eligibility criteria, then for this you should have a bachelor's degree from any recognized university and for this, your age should be between 20 to 25 years.
The physical standard test in this exam is the same as that of Constable GD. That is, the height of general male candidates should be a minimum of 170 cm i.e. 5 feet 7 inches height. In this exam also there is a physical endurance test along with mental eligibility. For male candidates have to do 100 meters race in 16 seconds, a 1.6-kilometer race in 6.5 minutes, 3.65 meters long Jump, and 1.2 meters high jump. He has to throw a shot put of 4.5 meters.
Talking about the salary, then the salary of Matrix Level 6 is available in it. Its starting basic pay is ₹ 35400 per month.
